An easy recipe for Italian meatballs and sauce you can prep in the slow cooker, then freeze or use for lunch and dinner throughout the week. This recipe makes lots of sauce so you can use it for pasta.
Ingredients
Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- Salt and pepper
Sauce:
- 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1 tbsp onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
