How to Keep Your OmieBox in Tip-Top Shape
Loving your OmieBox? With a few minutes of daily care, you can keep it clean and functional for years of use!
Here’s everything you need to know about how to wash OmieBox, take care of your accessories, and replace lost or broken parts.
Everyday Maintenance
A quick wash after each use goes a long way. Be sure to remove and clean the lid seal and gasket daily, as they can collect residue if overlooked.
Pro tip: Using OmieDips for small bites and sauces helps keep the main compartment cleaner, making everyday washing faster and easier!
How to Wash Your OmieBox
OmieBox should always be hand-washed, and is not dishwasher safe. This is because OmieBox is insulated, with two layers of plastic that have air trapped between them (that's why it doesn't come with an ice pack, unlike our other bento boxes that don't have this insulation). The air could expand and warp the box if it goes through the dishwasher.
Washing OmieBox with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge gives a nice clean without stripping the product.
Before reassembling your OmieBox, be sure everything is completely dry! We recommend washing before bed time, and leaving all pieces out to dry overnight.
Caring for Your OmieBox Accessories
OmieBox accessories are designed for easy cleaning. OmieDip, OmieSnack, and OmiePod are dishwasher safe (just make sure to place the OmiePod upright in the dishwasher so the inside gets clean!). Dividers should only be hand-washed and removed from OmieBox when cleaning. All accessories come with a 1-year limited warranty.
If odors linger, boil silicone parts for 10 minutes with water and a tablespoon of vinegar. To prevent staining, avoid leaving dark foods like tomato sauce or beets in silicone for extended periods.
