Chicken Turmeric Recipe

Chicken Turmeric Recipe by Fatimah (@surgeonwhobakes)

This recipe is versatile because the leftover chicken and veggies can be turned into a Chicken Turmeric sandwich which can be seen in my previous post on my Instagram @surgeonwhobakes.

Ingredients:

  • 600-800 grams of chicken breast (cut into medium size cubes)
  • 1 big bulb of Yellow onion (cut into medium size rings)
  • 1/2 of a carrot ( cut into rough Julienne)
  • 5 strings of long beans (cut into short into 4-5cm) *in the photo I dont have any long beans so I skip this part*
  • 1 red chilli (cut into rings) * you may skip this if you don't like it to be spicy and in the photo, I substitute it with Cherry tomatoes instead)
  • Dry Ingredients
    • 1 tbsp of Rice flour or multipurpose flour
    • 1 tbsp of Corn flour
    • 1 tbsp or 3/4 tbsp of Tumeric powder
    • 1 tbsp of curry powder *optional*
    • 1/2 tsp of salt *up to taste*
    • 1/2 tbsp of sugar *optional*

Directions:

  1. Mix well and marinate the chicken with all the dry ingredients except sugar (let it rest for 15 to 30 minutes)
  2. Put 4-5  tbsp of cooking oil into the pan and wait until the oil is hot, then sautee the marinated chickens on medium heat until the chicken is partially cooked
  3. While the chicken is cooking add all the vegetables, sugar, and salt if needed and mix well until the vegetables are all cooked. *Some people prefer the vegetables to be partial cook aka crunchy on the outside and some people prefer the vegetables to be soften*
  4. Voila! The chicken is ready to be eat and couple it with a plate of warm rice.

Happy trying and happy cooking fellas 😘
